Prelude FLNG facility on its way to field By Martin Kovacs, 30 Jun 2017

Shell has advised that the Prelude FLNG facility has left the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Geoje, South Korea, with the facility, constructed by the Technip Samsung Consortium, being towed to north-west Australia.

On arrival at the Prelude gas field, pre-installed mooring chains will be lifted from the seabed and secured to the facility, Shell advised.

Shell stated that the hook-up and commissioning process will begin once secure, with the safe and reliable start-up of Prelude’s operations to be the project team’s focus throughout the next phase.
