Armour: Phase one Kincora gas production commences By Martin Kovacs, 19 Sep 2017

Armour Energy has reported that phase one gas production at the Queensland Kincora project has commenced through recommissioning of the dry gas circuit of the Kincora gas plant.

Armour advised that the restart's next stages involve recommissioning of the Kincora to Wallumbilla pipeline and commissioning of the new end-of-line facility at Wallumbilla.

“Completion of these activities will facilitate the sale of Newstead gas,” Armour stated. “The current work program is on schedule for Newstead gas to be sold by the end of this month. It is planned to commence production at 5 TJ/d from the Newstead gas storage facility.”

Gas to be produced from existing wells, and potentially Newstead stored gas, will be treated by the Kincora gas plant wet gas circuit, Armour advised, with restart work on the circuit continuing, with it expected to be completed by December.

Once the commissioning is completed, the plan is to increase gas production to 9 TJ/d, Armour stated, while phase two will involve the drilling of new wells, plus workovers and stimulations of existing wells, to achieve a ramp-up of gas production to 20 TJ/d over a period of 12-to-18 months from first production.
