A new feature for the SPE News Australasia website is now live, across SPE section events calendar to collectively show local section SPE events across Australia, New Zealand and PNG. The events calendar is summarised under this blog section of the home page, with a “New Events” section with the most recently added events to the calendar, and “Coming Soon” for the next upcoming events. The full calendar can be found under the “Events” tab at the top right of every page on the website. Relevant events for each section can be selected at the top of the events page.

Have you recently written a paper for a SPE conference or workshop recently?

SPE News Australasia would like to hear from you. When you write a SPE paper and present at a SPE conference, your paper is lodged with the SPE’s OnePetro website www.onepetro.org where your paper can be legally searched and downloaded by the public. As an author of a SPE paper you have the right to request from SPE for permission for the potential re-use of your article for some useful purpose: e.g. one time reuse for inclusion of your SPE paper for a postgraduate degree research thesis.

The SPE APOGCE – Asia Pacific Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition – will be held in Perth in three short weeks time. I would encourage SPE members from across the Australasian region to consider registering for the conference. In my opinion, the proposed program in compelling, with very notable speakers for the opening and executive plenary sessions of the conference, which promise some key and recent insights into our industry in the Asia Pacific region. My congratulations to the conference committees, a promising conference awaits.
